Aquarium of the Americas

Yesterday Julian and I met Jen and Jacin and went to the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans. Jen tried to get Jacquelyn up to go, but she was more interested in getting her beauty sleep, so she was left behind! Sorry Jackie! It was a fun day! As you walk into the aquarium there is a big tank with Caribbean reef fish. You walk through a tunnel and are surrounded by water and fish--on each side and above you. It is really cool. We watched stingrays and all kinds of other fish swim all around us. We explored many different habitats including: the reef, the rainforest, rivers, and the Gulf of Mexico. We saw: Caribbean reef fish, Amazon river fish, sharks, stingrays, sea otters, penguins, alligators, and frogs among many others. They also had touch pools where you could pet the stingrays and baby sharks. We also got to watch as they fed the fish in the big tank: Sharks, stingrays, sea turtles etc. It was really a fun and interesting day. At the end of our day we watched a movie in the IMAX theater. We had a choice between Oceans 3D, Dinosaurs 3D or Hurricane on the Bayou. We've had enough hurricane talk so Julian decided for us to see the dinosaur movie. It was interesting after they got their audio glitch fixed. Michael Douglas narrated. All in all it was a very fun day!

Today Julian has his friend Michael over for a sleepover. It is their last hurrah before heading back to school on Monday. His vacation week was mostly quiet and restful. We did some swimming and spent a night at the Morrison's up in Mandeville. Then, 2 Morrisons spent the night at our house for Easter brunch on Sunday.

Next up: Packing...Ugh.
